| No. We give you full control to your account to do with as you wish. Your content is solely your responsibility. |
How long does it take to setup my account? |
| Your account will be setup within one business day. |
Does
Modern Byte provide technical support? |
| Yes, we provide extensive technical support
for our customers. Once you have an account with us, you will be able
to login into our support area that includes extensive documentation
and knowledgebase as well as an online helpdesk that is available 24/7/365
allowing you to direct questions to our support staff. |
What
if I lose my mbONE™ login password? |
| If you forget your password, please send
an Email request with your username and the domain(s) that you have hosted
with us to support@modernbyte.com . We will send your username and password
to the Email account that you have specified in your Contact Info within
one business day. If for some reason you are unable to access the email
account that you have specified in your Contact Info, you must fax us
two (2) pieces of acceptable identification and the Email address that
you are able to access so that we can email you with your login information. |
Do
you offer dial-up Internet access accounts? |
| No. You must provide your own internet
access. |
Technical FAQ |
Can
I access my website with or without the www? |
| All our servers are configured to allow you
to access your website with or without the www. That means typing yourdomain.com
into your browser is the same as typing www.yourdomain.com . |
Do
you host all top level domain names (international domain names)? |
| Yes. All top level domain names work with
Modern Byte. |
What
kind of servers do you operate? |
| We own and operate our own servers. Our most
common server configuration are Pentium 4 2.4Ghz servers with 1Gb of memory
as well as Dual Xeon 2Ghz servers with 1Gb of memory. |
Do
you support Microsoft Frontpage extensions? |
| Yes. Once you login to your control panel,
you have the option of enabling or disabling Microsoft Frontpage extensions
free of charge. |
Do
you support active server pages (ASP) or ColdFusion? |
| No. These require a Windows platform and
for the moment, we operate only Linux based servers. However, we will
be considering Windows 2003 servers in the near future. |
Do
you offer subdomains and domain pointers? |
| Yes. Depending on your hosting package, you
will be able to create subdomains and domain pointers. |
Billing FAQ |
Are
there any hidden fees? |
| Absolutely not. All fees are announced up
front – no surprises. We will never charge you for anything that
you do not approve. |
Are
there any setup fees? |
| No, there are no setup fees to join. |
What
forms of payment do you accept? |
| We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express,
Discover, PayPal, Checks, and Money Orders. |
What
currency are your fees in? |
| All Modern Byte fees are in United States
Dollars (USD). Canadian customers who wish to pay via check or money
order have the option of paying in Canadian funds. |
Do
you accept payment in other currencies? |
| At this time, we only accept credit card
payments in US funds and check or money order payments in US or Canadian
funds. Although we offer a currency conversion utility that is able to
display our fees in Australian Dollars, English Pounds etc, it is solely
for information purposes. |
Can
I pay monthly? |
| Absolutely. We offer monthly, quarterly,
semi-annually, and annual payment terms. The longer the term that you
choose, the more you save. Customers ordering semi-annual contracts
receive one month of free hosting while customers who sign up for an
annual contract receive three months free. |
Can I upgrade? |
| Yes. If at a later time you require a larger
hosting package, simply login to your account and create a help ticket
requesting an upgrade. We will take care of the rest. |
Can I pay via Credit Card? |
| Yes. We accept credit card payments through 2Checkout and PayPal.
The payments are withdrawn automatically either monthly, quarterly, semi-annually or annually depending on your preference.

Can
I pay via check or money order? |
As a convenience to our customers, Modern
Byte accepts checks or money orders for quarterly, semi-annual, and annual
contracts. Visit our secure online
order form
and choose Check or Money Order as your method of payment. Be sure to
print two copies of the final receipt – one copy for your own safekeeping
and another to send to us with your check. Make the check payable to Modern
Byte and mail the check and receipt to:
